What is behind ALIES?
Most tools tell you what type you are. ALIES is designed to show you what to do with it. A theory-based analytical framework that maps how individuals think, act and regulate themselves, and aims to translate those patterns into concrete, applicable strategies. Developed specifically for contexts where conventional instruments fall short.
How does ALIES work?
Three steps from questionnaire to individualised output.
1. Digital Questionnaire
Each version contains more than 100 items, tailored to specific target groups such as students, writers or migrants. It covers cognitive structure, motivation, internal barriers, self-regulation and social dynamics.
2. Algorithmic Evaluation (Blackbox Model)
The questionnaire responses are analysed using a rule-based system with hidden weighting. Each answer influences multiple patterns, both directly and indirectly. Some answer constellations trigger amplification or exclusion rules. The result is a primary type, a secondary pattern and a set of recommended behavioural strategies. The analysis runs fully automatically.
3. Output & Application
The outcome is not an abstract personality profile but a directly usable typology. Each pattern is linked to specific strategies – whether for learning, career guidance, self-coaching or team dynamics.
Technical Implementation
The current version (2025) runs on an independent, GDPR-compliant platform featuring:
- Secure user and advisor management
- Real-time evaluation and dashboard visualisation
- Export functions for PDF reports and data analysis
- Integrated language module covering 200 professions in 16 languages (for integration contexts)
ALIES is modular in structure and can be adapted to different target groups and institutions (e.g. schools, labour market programmes, companies).
Scientific Background
ALIES was not built in a laboratory and handed to practitioners. It was developed in the field, refined through real pilots, and theoretically grounded in collaboration with Dr Marco Boehm, a university lecturer specialising in test theory and applied psychology.
